with a variety of topics. It has been discontinued by the federal
government as of December 31, 2003. NPIN was "...an attractive, single point of
access on the World Wide Web to high-quality information on parenting and parent
involvement in their children's education." (UIUC College of Early Childhood and
Parenting Collaborative). The specific newsletter which contained "Choosing a
Sitter" was formerly found at npin.org/pnews/1997/pnew297/pnew297d.html
Children and the Media, on the National Parent Information
Network, published by Eric Clearinghouse, 1996. Article by Dr. Jeanne Beckman
entitled "Television Violence: What the Research Says About It's
Effect on Young Children." Unfortunately, The National Parent Information
Network was discontinued by the federal government on December 31, 2003. While this
article was on the NPIN website, innumerable parents and students utilized this article to
learn about Television Violence. This article was formerly found at
